Thank You for Coming Message Template

Here is a thank you for coming message template. Words in [brackets] can be updated for your situation.

It’s designed to be a handwritten note. If you are sending a text or another instant message, in most cases, you can leave off the greeting [1], closing [3], and your name [4].

For the thank-you message [2], ask yourself, why are you thankful that the recipient joined you?

[1] Dear [Person’s Name],

[2] Thank you for coming [to my house/dinner/lunch/etc.] yesterday. I enjoyed visiting with you and appreciate our friendship. [Add a genuine compliment or mention something that was discussed].

[3] Sincerely,

[4] [Your Name]

Note: There are many possible reasons to thank someone for coming, which makes a template a bit challenging. Please read the examples below to get wording ideas or other posts in the thank you for coming series.

You can use a free tool like Grammarly (I use the paid version) to ensure your Grammar is perfect in your message.

A handwritten note will feel more personal and could be sent in the mail or handed to the person (perhaps at the officer or church). Review my best tips for choosing a note card.
