49 Thank You Note to a Neighbor Examples

A good neighbor is a blessing. They may bring you food, help with the snow or lawn, help out with your kids, or bring you a gift when you have a new baby, etc.

Below, you will find many examples to help you write a thank-you note to a neighbor. Some of the samples are from my friends who have been thanked or have thanked a neighbor.

There are benefits to being on good terms with your neighbors! If you borrowed something from your neighbor, you may also want to read through the borrowing examples in this post.

Template

Most of the thank-you note examples in this site (examples by topic are here) can be modified to work for a neighbor by including a compliment.

Compliments to add to your note:
  • You’re a great neighbor!
  • I’m lucky to have you as a neighbor
  • You’re my favorite neighbor! (This could get dicey though if another neighbor would happen to see your note thinking they were your favorite, so use with caution!).
  • I am grateful to have you as my neighbor
Template note:

Note: fill in words [in brackets] as needed.

Dear Neighbor’s Name:

Thank you for [what you are thanking them for]. [A reason for why you are thankful]. I appreciate all the things you do for me as my neighbor.

Sincerely,

For food

If the food was provided in a dish that needs to be returned, after cleaning the dish, the thank-you note could be placed in the dish, to be given to the person when returning it. Don’t feel obligated to make something for them in the dish. Returning the cleaned dish is okay!

You may also find the examples in the after surgery/hospital stay post and the thank you for food post.

Mowing Lawn/Yard Work/Raking leaves

A few years ago, my sister helped me with yard work. Click here to read the note I wrote to her.
