There are many fun things to do on your birthday.
What you choose to do will depend on your budget, how much planning you want to do in advance, and who you will be with.
Here are some possible ideas.
Have Free Food All Day
Many restaurants will give you a free meal on your birthday.
Some restaurants will only give you a free meal on your actual birthday. However, other places will give you a coupon to use anytime during your birthday month (or whatever time period their free offer is).
So, you’ll need to do some research to learn the requirements of your favorite places to make sure you schedule your day around to fit in the places that same day as your birthday alone requirement.
Then you can use the other free coupons on other days near your birthday. If you are dedicated, you may find enough places to have free food for your entire birthday week!
You may need to be on their email list or app before your birthday to get the coupons for free stuff. Also, remember that the free coupon is usually only for the birthday person. So if your friends or family are with you, they will still have to pay for their meals.
Take The Day Off Work
If your birthday falls on a workday, consider taking the day off.
You can do many more fun things if you’re not working on your birthday.
Buy Yourself a Gift
It’s fun when you get birthday presents from friends and family.
However, spending time picking out your gift may be more fun. This way, you can get yourself exactly what you want!
Your spouse or partner may appreciate you for choosing what you want if they usually feel pressure or anxiety with picking out gifts.
My mom sometimes buys herself the birthday gift that she wants. Then she has my dad give it to her on her birthday. I probably did not realize she did this when I was a kid!
Do Something Fun On Your Bucket List
If you have a bucket list of things you want to do someday, choose a fun thing to do on your birthday.
You’ll have fun and make progress on your list!
Plan a Homemade Meal
This year on my birthday, I will be planning the meals that I want for my birthday.
My husband will be making the meals, so I will need to let him know a few days in advance so he can get any ingredients. For example, I want homemade English muffins as part of my birthday breakfast, and the dough needs to be started the day before.
If you’re alone, you’ll have to do the cooking. If you enjoy cooking or baking, this could be a fun activity on your special day.
Have a Birthday Party
You can decide if you want a big bash or a small gathering.
You’ll need to do party planning beforehand, including inviting people, organizing the food, and location.
Binge Watch a Show
This fun activity can be done alone, with friends, or with family. If any children will be with you, be sure to choose an appropriate show for their age.
Plan what show you’d like to watch ahead of time. Also, make sure you have your favorite snacks on hand.
Then, you can sit back and relax as you watch many episodes of your show.
Order Your Dream Cake
For fun this year on your birthday, you could order your the cake of your dreams from a local bakery.
Enjoy a delicious, beautiful cake instead of another boring cake made from a box or from the local grocery store.
Paint and Sip
A fun activity to do with friends is a paint and sip class.
Usually the classes are setup so that everyone is painting their version of the same picture, which can have some funny results!
You’ll likely need to schedule a session in advance.
Say Thank You For Birthday Wishes
If you are on social media, there’s a good chance that many people have wished you a happy birthday.
If you want to take the time to individual respond to people can do that. Or you can write one thank you for the birthday wishes message to post on your page near the end of the day.
You can also respond with a “thank you” to any happy birthday text messages.
Whatever you decide to do on your birthday, I hope it’s fun for you!
